Wizards bring "big-time fun" to Arkansas

The White County Citizen previews a PTO fundraiser where the Wizards wowed the Searcy, AR parent, teacher, and student crowd with their trademark "trick hoops and alley oops."

Carrie Steele, the Southwest Middle School PTO co-president, said the idea to book the Wizards came after “we had kind of been seeing advertisements and stuff about the Harlem Wizards the last year or so.”

She said she “showed it to my 12-year-old at the time. I pulled up a YouTube video of them and he was like, ‘Oh my gosh, Mom, you’ve got to do this; it’s so cool,’ and I said, ‘OK.’ He doesn’t get excited about a whole lot but he was really excited about seeing the Wizards on the YouTube video, and so I thought, ‘Let’s give it a try.’”
